Synchron is a clinical-stage endovascular brain computer interface (BCI) company. Since 2012, the company has been developing a BCI platform that avoids the need for open brain surgery by using a minimally-invasive procedure. The Synchron Switch BCI received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation in 2020, and is currently in human clinical trials in the US and Australia.The company recently announced an oversubscribed $75 million Series C financing round led by ARCH Venture Partners, with participation from Gates Frontier, Bezos Expeditions and other top-tier investors. The funds will accelerate product development, facilitate commencement of a pivotal clinical trial, and advance Synchron towards a first-in-class BCI market approval for the treatment of paralysis.The Synchron Switch brain computer interface is implanted in the blood vessel on the surface of the motor cortex of the brain via the jugular vein, through a minimally-invasive endovascular procedure. Once implanted, it is designed to detect and wirelessly transmit motor intent out of the brain, restoring a capability for severely paralyzed patients to control personal devices with hands-free point-and-click. Help people with previously untreatable conditions regain connection to the world.Position SummaryWe are seeking a Market Development Manager to help lay the groundwork to shape clinical and patient pathways, generate awareness, and create demand in the emerging BCI market. This role primarily focuses on engaging end users of BCIs, their care partners, the physicians that manage them today, and advocacy groups through multiple channels including Synchron's online Community (holistically defined as 'End User Customer Engagement'). They will work cross-functionally with Synchron's Field Market Development, Upstream Marketing, and Marketing Communication teams as well as National Advocacy groups to ensure that the clinical care pathway is catering to the needs of Synchron's users and interested patients can easily receive access to BCIs.The ideal candidate will be patient focused to the core, be able to understand needs of multiple stakeholders, and develop messaging, programming, and digital assets to end users, clinicians, and internal stakeholders. They must be a self-starter, entrepreneurial, and able to think at a systems level to expand access to Synchron's life changing technology during its clinical development phase.Note: The level and scope of this role may be adjusted based on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.Responsibilities:

• Own refinement and expansion of Synchron's End User Customer Engagement. Ensure that the strategies and tactics are desirable and effective.
• Develop and execute initiatives that accelerate Clinical Trial Enrollment, including through pre-trial registries. This includes owning national and advocacy campaigns while partnering with local Field Market Development resources to support regional initiatives.
• Own management and analysis of Market Development data with Salesforce.com and Database vendors to drive execution and find insights to inform strategy.
• Build robust engagement tactics to ensure that patients stay engaged in online platforms established by Synchron.
• Develop meaningful and compelling collateral to support Field Market Development team.
• Identify needs and create messaging for physicians that manage individuals living with paralysis.
• Define the needs, claims, and workflows that will move a clinician from 'awareness' to 'advocate' such that they refer indicated patients for implant.
• Maintain national-level advocacy relationships, including managing Synchron's presence at key events and prioritizing strategic engagements.
• Ability and willingness to flex to other activities in the Commercial organization as the needs of the fast moving start up evolve.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of marketing in a consumer company or 4+ years in downstream marketing, market development, or clinical marketing in a medical device whose therapy required patient marketing initiatives, with a focus on early-stage or pre-revenue companies.
  • Proven expertise in managing Salesforce or similar CRM platforms for stakeholder engagement.
  • Customer- and product- centric mindset.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling narratives.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to execute in a lean, fast-paced startup environment.
  • Adept at building relationships with national advocacy organizations.
  • Proficient in digital marketing tools, data analytics, and content management systems.Preferred Qualifications
    • Ability to achieve results by working cross-functionally and collaboratively across a matrix organization, including scoping and managing projects.
    • Experience in market development for disruptive technologies, particularly in regulated industries.
