We are seeking an accomplished and strategic leader to serve as Director of Engineering for a Food Production company. This role involves overseeing all engineering operations, driving technical excellence, and collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies that enhance product quality and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, manage, and direct the engineering team across multiple facilities, fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment.

- Plan, prioritize, and oversee the execution of engineering initiatives to meet organizational objectives.

- Develop and enforce engineering policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.

- Partner with cross-functional teams including operations, sales, and marketing to align engineering solutions with business strategies.

- Oversee the hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and professional development of engineering staff.

- Monitor and manage project budgets, resources, and timelines to achieve project milestones on time and within budget.

- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantage and operational excellence.

- Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and environmental standards across all engineering activities.

- Build relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure necessary resources and equipment.

- Provide regular updates and reports on departmental performance and project progress to senior leadership.

- Promote continuous improvement and operational efficiency through lean principles and innovative problem-solving.

- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and track metrics to drive accountability and performance improvement.


Qualifications:

- Proven experience leading engineering teams in a senior management role, preferably with 10+ years in engineering leadership.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field; a master's degree is preferred.

- Demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution of large-scale engineering projects in a food production environment.

- Expertise in project management, resource allocation, and cross-functional collaboration.

- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a diverse team.

- Proficiency in analyzing technological trends and integrating innovations into operations.

- Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.

- Ability to work in dynamic, fast-paced environments and occasionally in temperature-controlled facilities.

- Willingness to provide hands-on leadership during off-hours in a 24/7 operational setting, as needed.


Preferred Experience:

- Background in privately held or family-owned businesses.

- Familiarity with KPI development and implementation.

- Military leadership experience is a plus.
