Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Sterile Processing Technician Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 01/19/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours Employment Type: Travel Travel Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) Bethpage, NY HumanEdge Health is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for a travel assignment at a large, off-site reprocessing center in Bethpage, New York . This facility provides sterile processing services for 9 facilities , including tertiary sites and ambulatory surgery centers, and supports emergency services for the area. Assignment Details Location: Bethpage, NY Assignment Length: 13 weeks Start Date: January 19, 2026 Shift: Evenings Shift Length: 8 hours Shift Times: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM Schedule: Every other weekend required On Call: None Requirements Certification: CRCST or CSPD (must not expire during assignment) Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Experience: 1.5 years experience if tertiary facility experience 2 years experience if not tertiary Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds; stand, bend, lift, and reach for extended periods Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Preferred Qualifications 2 years sterile processing experience Equipment & Systems Equipment: STERIS Washers, Autoclaves, Ultrasonic Machines, Steam and Ethylene Oxide Sterilizers, Heat Sealers IT System: SynergyTrak Job Duties Rotate through all areas, including decontamination Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies per manufacturer instructions and department protocols Operate washers, sterilizers, and other equipment during sterilization procedures Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from surgical and clinical areas for decontamination Examine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality Identify malfunctioning items, document, and notify supervisor or biomedical engineer promptly Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels Maintain a contaminant-free work environment This assignment is ideal for a certified Sterile Processing Technician seeking a travel evening position in a high-volume, state-of-the-art reprocessing environment.
