Job Description Job Description /n Under the direct supervision
of a Registered Nurse, sets-up and operates dialysis machine. /n
Job Responsibility /n /n /n - * Sets-up and operates kidney
dialysis machine, under the direct supervision of an RN. /n - *
Verifies the machines' conductivity with an external conductivity
meter and checks dialysate PH and temperature. /n - * Checks water
treatment system's total chlorine and records results on the
log.Reports readings of >0.1 ppm to the Registered Nurse. /n - *
Logs water hardness as per policy. /n - * Monitors patient's vital
signs and dialysis machine readings during dialysis and reports
abnormal findings to the Registered Nurse. /n - * Adheres to
infection control policies. /n - * Mixes bicarbonate dialysis and
places the system in DI bypass if the R/O is in a fault
condition.Records resistivity meter readings. /n - * Assists RN in
providing nursing care to patients. /n - * Draws and prepares blood
specimens for transport to laboratory or shipment to transplant
center. /n - * Uses dialysis clinical information system to
document patient's treatment on hemodialysis flow sheet.Keeps hard
copy records as necessary. /n - Performs related duties, as
required. /n /n *ADA Essential Functions /n /n Job Qualification /n
/n /n - High School Diploma or equivalent, required. /n -
Hemodialysis Technician certification from an accredited
school/agency (i.e. BONET, NNCC, etc), required. /n - Minimum of
one (2) years directly related experience, required. /n - BCLS
certification, required. /n - Acute Experience preferred /n /n
